About Sichuan Tourism University
Sichuan Tourism University is a pilot university in Sichuan Province for the overall transformation and development reform of undergraduate institutions, the vice president of the China Cuisine Association, the vice president of the World Federation of Chinese Cuisine, the “Overseas Huiqiao Project – Chinese Cuisine Prosperity Base”, and one of the 100 colleges and universities selected for the construction of the National Project for the Integration of Industry and Education Development of Applied Undergraduate Programs and the Sichuan 2011 Plan.
In March 2012, the Ministry of Education approved the merger of Sichuan Higher College of Culinary Arts and Sichuan Agricultural Management Cadre College to establish Sichuan College of Tourism.
As of April 2021, the main campus is located in Longquanyi District, Chengdu City, covering an area of 672,000 square meters (1,008 mu); there are 11 secondary colleges, offering 25 undergraduate majors; there are more than 9,400 full-time undergraduate and college students. The university library has 983,000 books and 620,700 electronic books.
The university insists on the integration of industry and education, school-enterprise cooperation and internationalization, and is one of the 100 colleges and universities in the construction of the project of integration of industry and education development for applied undergraduate programs. It has established cooperative relationships with the University of Perugia in Italy, Lombard University in Edinburgh, UK, Hotel Management School in Dugai, France, and Paul Bocuse Hotel and Culinary Institute in France; it has long cooperated with Singapore, UAE, Qatar, Australia and the United States to carry out overseas internship and employment programs.
