Lecturer in English Composition, Public Speaking and Intercultural Communication

Job Responsibilities

Successful candidates will be expected to deliver excellent in-class instruction at the undergraduate/postgraduate level and participate in service activities for the college and student body. Contributing to graduate education is anticipated in the future. These faculty positions are renewable depending on teaching performance.

Qualifications

1) Required qualifications:

• A Master’s Degree or above from an internationally recognized university
• A degree in linguistics, communication, education, or related fields
• At least 2 years of teaching experience
• A CELTA/TESOL/TEFL certificate
• Ability to use online teaching platforms such as Canvas and Blackboard to assistant teaching
• Ability to work with culturally diverse students and faculty

2) Desired qualifications

• Cambridge DELTA or IH-CAM
• Evidence of teaching effectiveness from supervisors, peers, or students
• Experienced with Turnitin and AI Detection tools

3) Working conditions

• Full-time lecturers are expected to teach at least 12 hours per week and contribute at least two more hours per week to educational activities outside the classroom. Any additional work assigned by the college will be paid extra.
• Lecturers teaching Arizona State University courses (Academic Writing & Public Speaking) will acquire ASU adjunct status and will have access to ASU online resources.
• Full-time lecturers are offered competitive housing stipends, cafeteria allowance, and travel reimbursements.

II)RMB 9000-10000 monthly basic salary for Master’s degree holder, RMB 140 will be given for each period of class exceeding the default 10 period/week;

III)RMB 10000-11000 monthly basic salary for Doctorate’s degree holder, RMB160 will be given for each period of class exceeding the default 10 period/week;

Candidate must work for at least one school year which lasts for about 10 months. Additional two months of basic salary and RMB 300 per month will be awarded for those who continue to work for the College after the first contract year.

2. Airfare allowance per contract year: RMB13,000 for teachers from European countries, American countries, Oceania countries & African countries ; RMB11,000 for teachers from Russia; RMB 9,000 for teachers from Asian Countries.
