Introduction

Dr Hou-Feng Zheng’s Lab islooking for
self-motivated and enthusiastic Postdoctoral Fellow to work onHuman
Genetics, Population/Statistical Genetics and Genomics. Houfeng Zheng
isnow a Principal investigator at Westlake University, Hangzhou,
China.

The recent task of Zheng Lab is to
initiate a study cohort, named Westlake BioBank for Chinese
(https://wbbc.westlake.edu.cn/index.html, WBBC),
We whole genome sequenced 1000 samples and whole genome genotyped
9000 samples in the pilot project. To date, ~13000 samples were
recruited already. We mainly focus on identifying the genetic
determinants of complex traits suchas Bone Mineral Density, Vit D
level, Thyroid hormone, IGF1, BMI, Leptin andcomplex diseases such as
osteoporosis, osteoporotic fracture, diabetes, childhood obesity. We
also focus on the population structure study of ChineseHan, and we
dedicate to provide a comprehensive Chinese Haplotype Reference
withsamples across China to include the diversity of Chinese Han
population.

Job Description

Position:

The candidate will be expectedto
develop the pipeline for multiple phenotypes analysis, and work
onstatistical/computational method & tool development, Mendelian
Randomizationanalysis, and publishing on decent journals. The
candidate will have opportunities to collaborate with members at
Westlake University, as well as people from GEFOS consortium
(http://www.gefos.org/).

Requirements:

Ph.D. in Human
Genetics,Statistics/Biostatistics, Bioinformatics, Computer Science
or other relevant discipline with strong quantitative research back
ground; proficiency in one ormultiple of the popular programming
languages, e.g., Python, Perl, R;experience working with large
genetics data, comprehensive database (such asUCSC, GTEx) and
high-performance clusters are desirable. Or PhD who are
familiar with bone metabolism experiments.

Other requirements:

1) Have obtained or about to obtain a
Ph.D. degree, aged under 35;

2) Candidate’s Ph.D. degree should be
obtained within 3 years.

Compensation and Benefits

The research team offers a competitive
compensation package commensurate with theselected candidate’s
qualifications and experience. Applications for relevant projects and
programs will be encouraged and supported.

For postdoctoral fellow who selected
for China Postdoctoral Science Foundation or Advanced Programs of
Zhejiang Province will be entitled to receive the same amount funds
from the Hangzhou government.

For postdoctoral fellow who full-time
work in Hangzhou after completing their post-doc research will be
eligible for applying allowance of 400,000 RMB from the Hangzhou
government.
